David Gallagher was appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of Pfizer Australia in early 2013. He joined Pfizer Healthcare Ireland 12 years ago and led the business as Managing Director from May 2007 before taking on the role in Australia.
David will be speaking at the 11th Annual Future of the PBS Summit on the 5th and 6th May at the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel, on the topic “Big pharma perspective: The pursuit of certainty in an unpredictable market”.
With 20 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical, life sciences and agri sectors in Ireland and internationally, David has a proven track record in revenue achievement, strategic planning, structural and culture change.
Between 2010 and 2012, David served as President of the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association and successfully led negotiations with the National Government for a three-year supply agreement governing access, reimbursement and pricing.
A graduate of Bachelor of Ag Science from the University College Dublin (UCD) in 1989, David also has a Masters in Business Studies from UCB/KU Leuven, Belgium in 1993 with honours, and acquired Chartered Director from Institute of Directors, UK in April 2013.
An avid rugby fan, David is also a keen hill walker, swimmer and runner, who has an interest in participating in sprint triathlons and marathons in his spare time.
