About the Course
This course will equip you with fundamentals and practical updates of LNG transfer technologies and operations, as well as tools and techniques to effectively mitigate risks in LNG storage, loading & handling. Attending this programme, you will:
- Reinforce knowledge of relevant national and international LNG legislation and industry best practices.
- Evaluate different procedures and factors affecting cost of the operation
- Enhance understanding of various transfer techniques: ship-toship, ship/shore interface, ship-to-platform, jettyless transfers
- Become familiar with LNG vessels and transfer equipment, design, maintenance
- Familiarise the differences of Person in Overall Advisory Control, Mooring Master and Master of the Ship
- Establish a useful methodology in risk reduction and emergency shutdown procedures
- Ensure overall safety for any LNG transfer operation on the use of correct size and number of fenders and certified tested hoses
- Recognise and understand differences in operations and hazards between oil and gas vessels.
- Understand requirements for LNG vessel compatibility and mooring studies and follow an LNG spill response case study
- Develop effective compatibility studies prior to transfer
- Examine different techniques and technologies for managing transfer problems: boiled-off gas (BOG), SIMOPS, tank pressure, and more
