The Australasian Railway Association and Informa are pleased to be bringing our 8th Light Rail Conference back to Sydney. The conference will take place at the Sofitel Sydney, Darling Harbour on the 8 and 9 June 2021.
Light Rail 2021 will bring together operators, manufacturers, contractors and industry and government stakeholders of every level across the light rail sector to hear cutting-edge case studies, project updates and learn from successful projects in Australasia and the world.
Light rail is reshaping the Australasian landscape by reducing traffic congestion and greenhouse emissions and transforming the way we travel by offering smart solutions and completing multimodal connections. With transport planning refining our cities and regions, now it is the time to build a long-term, strategic light rail future that benefits all.

Sydney Light Rail Randwick Stabling Yard Operational Control Centre (OCC)
Delegates will enjoy a guided tour of Randwick Stabling Yard, home of Sydney’s new light rail fleet and nerve centre for light rail operations. The stabling yard includes the operations room for the CBD and South East Light Rail network, sheds for light maintenance and the fleet wash bay.
Sydney Light Rail Lilyfield Maintenance Facility
Delegates will visit the new maintenance facility in Lilyfield – an important part of the light rail network that will keep the light rail vehicles in working order. Up to six light rail vehicles will be able to be serviced at one time in the Lilyfield depot with wheel repairs and replacements, structural and mechanical repairs carried out as needed.
Each site tour will have a capacity of 20 attendees.
