Australian healthcare came fourth in a 2013 report titled “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall”.
Conducted by the Commonwealth Fund, the report measured the quality, efficiency, cost and performance of the US health system, and compared these with Canada and nine other countries in Europe and Australasia.
The UK came on top, scoring highly for its quality of care, efficiency and low cost at the point of service, with Switzerland coming an overall second. The third place went to Sweden and Australia came fourth. You can see the detailed ranking in the table below:
