The rail industry is experiencing an exciting period of growth from record infrastructure investment to progressive demands for passenger and freight rail. Not only is rail the greener transport alternative, it is also inherently the safest form of transport with rail transport, statistically, up to 20 times safer than road transport.

Even so, accidents still occur which is why safety remains the fundamental element of all rail operations.

Now in its ninth year, Rail Safety is an eagerly awaited highlight on the rail industry calendar. Held in Melbourne, the 2008 conference attracted a record 200+ audience and the 2009 program promises to build on that success.
