The 5th annual NT Transport Infrastructure Summit brought together key industry experts and opinion leaders in the transport sector to provide the most up-to-date-insight into crucial transport infrastructure projects and economic analysis in the Top End.
The Hon Paul Henderson MLA, Chief Minister of the Northern Territory opened the Summit highlighting the state government’s commitment to deliver pivotal transport infrastructure in order support its crucial industries.
Bruce Fadelli AM, Board Director, Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry outlined the future growth potential of various industries in the Territory and stressed the importance of supply chain certainty in strengthening business relationships with Asia.
Terry O'Connor, CEO of Darwin Port Corporation provided a compelling case study presentation about the long-term vision for Darwin Port. Terry outlined the complexities arising from multi-user facilities and the challenges of accommodating larger vessels at the port.
Ian Kew, CEO at Northern Territory Airports continued with a glimpse into the future for Darwin International Airport and presented a 2030 development concept for one of the Top End’s most important infrastructure assets.
