The 2 day Next Generation Broadband Access Masterclass is designed to help you understand current and emerging broadband access technologies, see where they fit into the network landscape, determine how they can be used to access Next Generation Network and learn the capital costs to invest in, to use , and to apply these technologies.
Why should you attend this masterclass?
Are you confused by terms such as ADSL2+, FTTN, G9, NGN, MPLS, HSxPA, NEXTIP? Have you stopped to consider that Australia is the least densely populated(2 people/km2) continent on the planet (except Antarctica), and is also the most urbanized. These factors coupled with the relatively underdeveloped nature of Australia’s rural wireline network, its harsh geography, the significant distances and associated civil works costs, suggests that ADSL based technologies alone will not be able to reach the entire population and quench the insatiable appetite of people for broadband.
Who would benefit from attending?
The programme has been specifically tailored to the non-technical audience and/or professionals who may have formal education in a different discipline, but who need to gain a high level understanding of the rapidly changing world of the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) industry.
With a techno-economic orientation identifying the capital costs to invest in, to use, and to apply these newer technologies, this 2 day masterclass is ideally suited to those who are either recipients of ICT services or seek to provide products or services (such as in finance or media/communications). It is also highly suited to government officials or simply those seeking to understand and invest in the growth potential of the ICT industry.
Choose your masterclass’s venue & date from the following:
- Sydney 30-31 March 2009, Sydney Harbour Marriott at Circular Quay
- Canberra 6-7 April 2009, Mantra on Northbourne, Canberra
- Melbourne 16-17 April 2009, Vibe Savoy, Melbourne VIC 3000
