During the previous national election, the Rudd government made a promise to deliver universal dental care in Australia. Since then, the National Health and Hospital Reform Commission has endorsed the idea of a new Denticare model for our country to deliver universal care.
Now is the right time to ask ourselves: What "should" dental reform look like? What needs to be considered? And, how can reform be planned and implemented effectively?
The Association for the Promotion of Oral Health & Informa Health Events will bring together the experts in dental and oral care to discuss the issues, challenges and solutions necessary to improve our dental health system at the Dental Health Policy Forum.
The conference will be broken into two parts.
- An introductory seminar on the 24th February: Understanding and addressing Australia’s dental care problems. This will consist of sessions focussing on dental and oral health/disease issues, trends and case study solutions.
- The main forum on the 25th-26th February: Dental Health Policy Forum. Over these two days delegates will explore the government policy dimensions of oral healthcare and reform, dental healthcare systems/models, access to dental healthcare in Australia, implications for health insurance and reform in the context of Australian dental workforce issues.
