South Australia has the most diverse generation in Australia and is actively encouraging further energy production to meet projected shortfalls of 300 -400 megawatts in the next 3-4 years, with a total shortfall of 1200 megawatts expected in the next 10 years. South Australia has also embraced wind and geothermal energy, with further projects underway in coal seam methane, gas to liquids, coal to liquids, solar and wave technologies. Many are world leading projects which are being monitored from across the globe.
