The New Zealand Tertiary Education Summit is a unique event that provides a platform to discuss key issues facing the sector.

The NZ Tertiary Education Strategy 2010-2015 has set participation as a key priority across the tertiary education sector. While participation and completion rates are on the rise, the recent decline in international student numbers is a major concern to the sustainability of the sector.

Despite the proliferation of qualifications in the national system, New Zealand’s pathway and articulation arrangements are well established but present opportunities and challenges for the sector.

The New Zealand Tertiary Education Summit examines the strategies and solutions to make tertiary education nationally and internationally competitive while increasing participation and student engagement. The Summit provides an overview of New Zealand’s diverse tertiary education sector to discuss the impact and implications on standards and quality assurance and aims to deliver solutions to manage and guide quality, accessibility and student diversity.

The New Zealand Tertiary Education Summit will welcome senior leaders from Universities, Polytechnics and Institutes of Technology, Wananga and private and industry training organisations to discuss these and many more key issues relating to the diverse tertiary education sector.
