Focus of this year’s summit

This year, the conference focuses on the new tertiary education strategy and the challenge for the sector to deliver the key priorities of the new strategy in a dynamic regional and international economic environment. It looks at the factors that underpin the sector's success in making tertiary education nationally and internationally relevant and responsive while increasing participation, engagement and access and becoming a driver for innovation and industry.

  • Day one focuses on policy, governance, performance and quality assurance along with a special session on learning and teaching strategy.
  • Day Two looks at innovation and research, planning and design and equity and access.

The programme considers these issues across sectors - Universities, Polytechnics and Institutes of Technology, Wananga and private and industry training organisations.
