Today’s students are the most technologically advanced and integrated in history. Students, academic staff, educational institutions and IT administrators are faced with new and increasingly diverse challenges in the sharing and disseminating information.
While there has already been much innovation in the digital field, there is considerable need for further improvement to increase social, academic and professional integration. Higher education institutes need to keep up with these demands and offer international standards in IT services.
Currently many online education portals deliver the bare minimum to both students and administrators and are struggling to keep abreast of fast-changing technologies. There is a massive need to establish the technical infrastructure that can not only actively support these portals but also address the extreme mobility that 21st century users have come to expect.
The 2nd annual Higher Education Information Technology Summit will be focusing on the challenges currently facing IT in higher education. It will be looking at some of the developments that will revolutionise the application of IT in learning facilities. The program will also cover on issues such as:
- Governance & regulation
- Staffing – finding and keeping the right people
- Long and short term program strategy
- Realigning the imbalance between reduced budgets and increased expectations
As a delegate you will hear from a wide range of academics, IT experts and higher education administrators.
This is a one-off chance for you to meet face-to-face with Bill Clebsch, Executive Director, IT Services Stanford University, USA who will be looking at creating a sustainable IT network.

- Neil Thelander, Director ITS, Queensland University of Technology and Chair, CAUDIT
