Australian Defence Magazine and Informa are pleased to announce the 5th ADM Defence Skilling Summit on 29-30 September 2009 at the Hilton on the Park in Melbourne.
Building upon the success of the annual Australian Defence Magazine Congress over the past past 6 years, the ADM Defence Skilling Summit, now in its 5th year, has grown to become a major event in its own right. Last year's event attracted over 120 senior Defence and Industry representatives.
It is the only Defence industry event which focuses specifically on the issue of skilling.

We are pleased to announce the following additions to the outstanding speaker line-up:
- The Hon Martin Pakula MP, Minister for Industry and Trade, Victoria will be addressing current efforts to promote skills development in Victoria's Defence industry
- Dr Len Sciaca, Chief Operating Officer of the DSTO will be discussing initiatives in place to build Australia's Defence research and development workforce
- Harry Dunstall, Special Counsel to the CEO of the DMO will be addressing the current skilling initiatives that the DMO have developed to professionalise contracting in Defence
- Jon Moore, Alliance Services Director of the Air Warfare Destroyer Systems Centre will discuss the challenges that they have faced in managing human resources in this major project
- Colin Boldra, Alliance Director at DeakinPrime joins our panel session on developing partnerships between Defence, industry and training providers
- Michael Myers, Managing Director of the Re-engineering Australia Foundation will present an innovative session examining the biological underpinnings of human responses to training, and how we can best work with these drivers
- Tim Ridgway, Director of Defence recruitment company, Human Interest Partners will explore strategies for successfully transitioning new "cleanskin" recruits into Defence industry
