Terry Scott is the Managing Director – Auckland of Transdev Auckland Ltd. A highly experienced manager who built his transport industry expertise over 33 years in a variety of roles, Terry has been a member of the Transdev executive management team for 9 years and a senior manager at Southern Coast Transit for 10 years.
Terry will be speaking at the upcoming New Zealand Rail Conference on the 17th and 18th June in Auckland, on the topic “Passenger services and the Auckland Electrification Project”.
His reputation for inspirational leadership and creating progressive work environments through innovative problem solving is grounded by a down-to-earth communication style. It is Terry’s ability to unite a team behind common goals that so often results in increased productivity and profitability.
Terry is an engaging communicator who has a natural ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, employees, colleagues, government and industry representatives. He is highly respected across the Australasian public transport industry and his leadership qualities mean he is a strong steady hand at the helm of any organisation.
In particular Terry is committed to promoting safety culture in transport and at present serves on the board of TrackSafe, the leading NZ rail safety charity.
Safety is Terry’s priority. Having seen businesses from different perspectives, he knows that it is critical to success in all areas. He is passionate about ensuring employees go home in the same condition they came to work. Under his leadership, Transdev WA were awarded Best Safety Management System by Worksafe in 2012 and Worksafe Plan Platinum Certificates of Achievement in February 2010. More recently, Transdev Auckland were rewarded for demonstrating Excellence in Workplace Safety in the 2013 Westpac Auckland Business Awards.
