Neville is currently the head of the Road Policing Operations and Investigations for Victoria Police, which includes being the Victoria Police Transport Industry Liaison Officer. He is responsible for the impaired driver’s enforcement programs, state-wide highway patrol operations, major collision investigations and heavy vehicle enforcement and chain of responsibility investigations. Attendees at the Chain of Responsibility conference, to be held on the 2nd December in Sydney will be able to hear Neville speak about how the police are targeting CoR legislation breaches out on the road, and what they are discovering.
Joining Victoria Police in 1978 Neville has enjoyed a very diverse career in rural and metropolitan policing, specialising in criminal investigations, major event planning, counter terrorism security and training. He has worked internationally in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth nations on security for the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay. More recently in Switzerland, China and Indonesia building enforcement capacity as part of the United Nations Decade of Action to reduce global road trauma.
Neville has been awarded the Victoria Police Service Medal, National Medal and National Police Service Medal for over 35yrs diligent and ethical service to policing in Australia. He has been awarded a Chief Commissioners Citation and two High Commendations for leadership and professionalism in policing.
