Paulo Castellari is the Chief Executive of Iron Ore Brazil at Anglo American. Paulo joined the company’s Iron Ore Brazil business as Commercial Director in May 2011. He has been appointed to Chief Executive position in January 2012.
Paulo has previously been the chief executive of Anglo American’s Phosphates and Niobium businesses in Brazil. He also served in Anglo American’s former Base Metals division, driving operational performance and long-term strategic planning following five years as the Business Development and Marketing Director for the Group’s Nickel and Niobium businesses.
His early career included positions at AngloGold Ashanti and Minorco in a number of corporate finance and capital project roles.
Paulo graduated in Business Administration at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, in São Paulo, with an MBA in Strategic Planning from the London Business School.
Paulo will be presenting at Americas Iron Ore, to be held on the 11th and 12th November and give an update on Anglo American’s Minas Rio project. The conference is one of the most respected annual gatherings for North and South American iron ore markets. The 2013 agenda will feature: iron ore industry and market developments; new project developments and expansions in North and South America; overview of steel demand; iron ore spot market price; infrastructure and transport challenges and investment opportunities.
