Brian is the GM Ferrous at Exxaro Resources, a company listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange Ferrous is a new commodity business in Exxaro that was established following the acquisition of AKI in Australia in 2012
Brian has a mechanical engineering background, supported by a MBA. He spent most of his early career working in a wide variety of technical and management roles in the steel industry. He is a director of a number of Exxaro subsidiary companies, both in South Africa and abroad
He is currently responsible for Exxaro’s operations in the Republic of Congo and also for the commercialisation of AlloyStream and UHDMS and a FerroAlloys business which produces gas atomised ferrosilicon for use in DMS and UHDMS plants
Brian likes watching sport and has an active interest in light aviation.
He’ll be speaking at the upcoming Africa Iron ore Conference on “West Africa – Expanding the African Iron Ore Footprint” on the 4th-5th of June in Cape Town.
