Key Learning Objectives
- Understand the requirements for processing the fluids for the reservoir
- Review of the processing specifications of the outgoing components
- Understand the functions of the main topside processing system
- Evaluate the criteria for setting the topsides layout for good operation and safety
- Appreciate the interconnection of the performance requirements of the processing and utility components
- Recognise the particular needs of plant operating on a moving deck if on a FPSO vessel
- Learn from detailed examples of existing facility topsides
About the Course
The objective of offshore production facilities is to receive the reservoir fluids and to separate the oil and gas for export and prepare the produce water for disposal. This is carried out by the facilities topsides processing system.
In addition the processing system must carry out a number of other functions, such as preparation of water for injection into the field as part of a reservoir pressure maintenance plan and all the other utility system required by the overall processing system.
All these capabilities must be packaged into the modules which make up the topsides processing plant. The equipment must work safely and effectively under a range of conditions including start-up, continuous operations and the weather conditions at the field location.
The topsides processing requirements are common to fixed and floating systems. With floating production hosts some account has to be taken of the performance under the vessels motions.
In this new training course, all the various process modules will be detailed – their function, operation and equipment examples. It will show how these are integrated in the layout on the facility deck. It is illustrated mainly with FPSO process equipment, but is not limited to such systems.
A number of field examples will be presented to enhance learning.
Who Will Benefit
Anyone connected with the oil industry including management, field engineers, operators, equipment suppliers, safety engineers, shipping and maritime personnel
