Sydney, Australia’s cultural and commercial capital. But what will it look like come 2050? And how many people will call Sydney home?

The SMH Sydney 2050 Summit will explore the vision for the transformation of the Harbour City. What will be the major infrastructure and transport projects over the next 30 years? How and, just as importantly, where will the workers be based? Where will be people live? Will our schools, hospitals, and social services be equipped to tackle the challenges of the second half of the century? Will Sydney become a more sustainable city? What balance will be struck between urbanization and green spaces? And what new cultural, sporting and entertainment facilities will we see develop and what recognition of our Indigenous heritage will be preserved?

The Sydney 2050 Summit will not have all of the answers, but it will pose many of the questions to kickstart the conversation on what we would like the greatest city in the world to become over the next 30 years.
