In even years (2008, 2010 etc.) the event features a 2-day conference, compact exhibition, Gala Dinner and a whole host of networking events. AusRAIL alternates with AusRAIL PLUS (2009, 2011 etc.), a major exhibition with a networking drinks function, 3-day conference, the RTAA’s Yellow Tie Dinner and the Gala Dinner. At the next AusRAIL PLUS in 2009, the program will feature an extended social itinerary with a golf day and wine tours to South Australia’s renowned wine region.
In total just over 1000 people came to AusRAIL 2008 and over 700 guests attended the Gala Dinner on the evening of the final day. With 60 companies represented at the exhibition, AusRAIL 2008, shows the strength of the rail industry in the face of a global economic downturn.
The hugely successful AusRAIL PLUS 2007 was the biggest yet. The 3-day conference was attended by over 1000 rail professionals and 110 speakers from Australasia, Asia, Europe and North America. There were over 3,000 daily visits to the AusRAIL PLUS 2007 exhibition and 200 exhibitors, this has doubled in size since 2003. AusRAIL PLUS 2007 was covered by major international railway publications. Both dinners sold out months in advance and provided exceptional networking highlights to a memorable 3 days.
