Regional Ports 2012 will showcase the latest port developments and assess the policy, planning, and operating strategies designed to maximise the efficiency of Australia’ s regional ports: gateways for facilitating trade, engagement and opportunity.
From the spotlight of record trade figures to legislative initiatives including "the most important microeconomic transport reform in our history", Australia's regional ports have remained firmly on the radar.
The 7th annual Regional Ports Summit will be hosted in Western Australia, were the Government's plans to undertake the biggest reform of the State’s ports in decades highlights the critical link between the wealth generated by increasing commodity exports and the efficiency of transport to generate increased benefits.
Featuring local and national case studies, Regional Ports 2012 will provide a spotlight on port developments across the country, highlighting the infrastructure, investment and long-term planning necessary to meet Australia’s current and potential competitiveness.
