Transport Project Financing Summit
6-7 September 2011 | Parkroyal Darling Harbour
Australia’s recent federal budget indicated a boom in infrastructure investment to fund road, rail and port projects and meet the increasing demands of freight and passenger transport. At the same time, the government is putting in place incentives for super funds to invest in nation building projects, and encouraging the private sector to finance fundamental projects.
The legislative reforms that are critical to encourage and facilitate transport infrastructure investment will be addressed at this year’s Transport Project Financing Summit.
“If there’s no money in the federal kitty, and in many cases state finances are quite tight as well, how is this infrastructure going to get built? We are left with no other alternative, then, than going to the private sector to see if they are prepared to participate in the whole or in part” - Sir Rodd Eddington.
