Bowen Basin Coal & Energy Conference

8th – 9th August 2011 | Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre

Being the largest coal reserve in Australia, the Bowen Basin is also one of the most established coal producing regions in the country.  The basin covers an area of 60,000 square kilometres in Central Queensland and has 34 operational coal mines and represents over 83% of Queensland’s coal production.

New exploration and development juniors are securing tenements and exploration permits to try to enter the thriving market.  Recent weeks have seen major international players from Asian energy groups taking important stakes in the Australian coal exporters.

The two-day Bowen Basin Coal & Energy Conference is an opportunity for you to gain first hand insights on the latest mining developments; the latest port and infrastructure progress; an overview of the opportunities created in the region by the strong demand for Australian coal and the challenges of this burgeoning and growing coal industry.
