Ferrum Consultants is a specialist consultancy established in Perth, Western Australia in 2007 by a small, multidisciplinary group of experienced industry executives from Australia and Europe, to offer advice and expertise to stakeholders in the iron ore and ferrous metallics industries. With combined experience of more than 150 years in the global business of steelmaking raw materials, Ferrum Consultants offers clients a wide range of services in the commercial, technical and market related aspects of the business.

LEN DEAN is a metallurgist with 38 years experience in the global iron ore and coal industries. He worked for BHP from 1970 to 2000 in various operational, marketing and senior management roles. He was Managing Director of Sesa Goa, India’s largest public iron ore mining company and for the last three years has undertaken consulting assignments to international and Australian mining companies.

He is currently a director of Western Plains Resources Ltd, Chairman of Outback Metals and a member of the Robe River Participants Committee.

WARREN GILHOME is a geologist with 40 years experience in the iron ore industry. Most of his time was spent in various roles in Hamersley Iron. He worked at Tom Price, Paraburdoo and Dampier encompassing geological, production, mine planning, quality control and maintenance functions. He was General Manager Marketing and played a key role in establishing Hamersley’s presence in China and was deeply involved with the Channar Joint Venture. He was head of Hamersley’s and later CRA’s Shipping Division. Recent consulting activities included assignments for Aztec Resources, Cape Lambert Iron Ore and Murchison Metals.

WARWICK DAVIES is an industrial chemist and economist with 40 years experience in the iron ore and steel industries. After a variety of technical roles with BHP in their steel works in Newcastle and Whyalla, he worked in the laboratories of Hamersley Iron at Dampier and the Robe River JV at Cape Lambert before moving to Perth for Robe. Here he worked in a range of Marketing roles including 5 years as General Manager of Marketing until early 2001. Post this time, he has worked as a consultant to the iron ore industry, clients including: Mount Gibson Iron Limited, Atlas Iron Limited and others. Warwick is currently Executive Director of Resource Mining Corporation Limited.
