Bringing health professionals together to strengthen strategies to combat diabetes in Australia
Informa Health Events is partnering with the Australian Diabetes Council to co-host the inaugural Diabetes Policy conference.
The inaugural Diabetes Policy conference draws on the Government’s investment in prevention strategies to combat the increasing rate of diabetes and the policy initiatives to strengthen the relationship between general practice and other allied health professionals. This will offer you the chance to spend several days with other healthcare professionals and diabetes experts to get a clearer picture of how best to tackle this growing epidemic.
Joining the speaker faculty are renowned international experts:
- Dr. Stig Pramming, Owner, Pramming Consult, Denmark and Board Member, Oxford Health Alliance, UK
- Dr. James Levine MD, Endocrinologist in the Department of Internal Medicine, Mayo Clinic, USA
Key speakers confirmed to take part in the event include:

The Australian government has already announced $436 million in funding to general practice to provide integrated, multidisciplinary care initiatives. This approach is aimed at strengthening the relationship between general practitioners and allied health professionals and to take pressure off hospitals and unnecessary admissions. This conference comes at a key time for developing working strategies for how to make this funding effective.
The agenda for the inaugural Diabetes Policy conference will include leading practitioners and policy makers who will provide invaluable insights into the policy approach to prevention and intervention of diabetes. This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet with your peers and health professionals to look at the way forward for tackling this growing problem.
