Organised by the conveners of the industry-acclaimed Higher Education Summit held annually in Australia, the New Zealand Summit will provide a comprehensive program, tackling key issues and also providing cross-sector networking experiences for New Zealand’s tertiary sector.
Here is a glimpse of what the three days will cover:
Day one & Day two - General Policy, Planning & Strategy
- Shaping the New Zealand higher education system – policy, regulation and governance; prospects for future reforms; and a case study look across the Tasman Sea at the outcomes of the Australian Higher Education Review
- Adapting to the changing world – global economic slowdown and the response by tertiary sub-sectors
- Equity issues – improvement and progress
- Developing external relationships with the community, secondary education and other sub-sectors
- International issues – growth and opportunity for international education; relationship-building with overseas alumni; and prospects for harmonisation between the Australian/New Zealand tertiary systems
* Optional day three - Research & Innovation Forum
- Central Government policy, the PBRF model, assessing domestic productivity and global competition, market capitalisation, knowledge transfer and strengthening networks and business clusters
